Christmas Robin

Wednesday, December 5, 2012
For my last class at Create on Ormond we are going to have a little Christmas celebration and make one last card. Here is the gorgeous iris folded robin.

Christmas cards for my son's classmates

Monday, December 3, 2012
Each year I take the time to make christmas cards for all my son's classmates and teachers. This year that means 23 cards for kids and 7 for teachers.

Here are the kid's cards. I used the Simon Says Stamp Christmas card kit and some inspiration from Darlene Designs beautiful owl punch card.

Ahoy Matey!

Wednesday, October 24, 2012
I have been playing around with my MFT stamps and recently purchased Ahoy, Matey! I paired him up with some pirate patterned paper to make this card.

Cards for Hen's night invites

Monday, September 17, 2012
A good friend of mine asked me to make some invites for a Hen's night. I made one for the bride to be, three for the bridesmaids and three for others attending.
Here is the bride's card - stamp from Stampin' Up.
This one was for the bridesmaids. Their dressers are slate grey so tried to get the same colour. Coloured with Copic Spica pen to give the glitter which cam out quite nicely in this photo. Also coloured the wrap in with a silver gel pen. Stamp from Kraftin Kimmie.

Here is the card that will go to the 2 mother's and a sister I think. Stamps from Hero Arts.

Here is my take on the My Favorite Things weekly sketch. Used some papers I got in a Lime Tart A La Tarte Kit.

Father's Day

Saturday, August 18, 2012
With Father's Day just around the corner I put together some cards for my next class at Create on Ormond. I do struggle a bit with masculine cards so had to think about these for awhile.

Cheers to you

Friday, August 17, 2012
This is a card I put together for one of my work colleague's birthday. The stamp is from Kraftin' Kimmie - Sophia.

Surfer Dude

This is a card I made for the Greeting Farm's Retro-Fresh Challenge - The Golden Hour.

The challenge is to use YELLOW ORANGE BABY BLUE.

So I pulled out my surfer Ian stamp, and also as my son was to be attending a birthday party for one of his classmates, and the party was going to be at "Surfworld", this all came together quite nicely.

Iris Folded Dress

Thursday, August 2, 2012
For my next class at Create on Ormond, I am doing some iris folding. It is such a fun technique, one that is actually a lot easier than it looks and you get stunning results. I found a great pattern on the Circle of Crafters site. However I tweaked the pattern a bit to that the bottom of the dress could open up to reveal the patterned paper.

Bundle of Baby - MFTWSC79

Monday, July 9, 2012
I played along with My Favourite Things' sketch challenge this week. Used the lovely A la Mode - Bundle of Baby . Also used their rolled rose dies and leafy flourish die.

Yellow Dress

Monday, May 28, 2012
In my new job I have 16 staff and I am determined to make them all handmade cards on their birthdays! So this is the latest one for a birthday this week. I used the Fancy Dress stamp from Hero Arts, and the sentiment is from the Signature Greetings set from Papertrey Ink. I used my Lime Tart A La Tarte Kit for most of the paper and cardstock.

Happy Mother's Day

Monday, May 14, 2012
After making so many other Mother's Day cards to sell, I decided that this was my favourite design out of them all for my own Mum, and one for my son's Grandma. I used some products from a recent A La Tarte kit from Lime Tart. I used some of the buttons, coloured cardstock and the chevron washi tape from Bella!

For Mum

Monday, May 7, 2012
At my son's school they have an annual Mother's Day stall, where kids can buy small gifts for mum that have been donated by families to the stall. I am still a little puzzled why they don't have a father's day stall, but oh well...

Anyway I decided I would contribute with whipping up some cards, a little less whipping than ongoing concern about what sort of card a 7 year old would buy for their mother! I thought I would be able to make a few, but with working full time, and not wanting to do the same design on every card, I managed to accomplish 13. Which in itself does not seem many, but the hours put into those cards are no insignificant.

These two cards below I made from Papertrey Ink set Blooming Button Bits set.

This was a simple yet effective card, using a heart punch and spellbinder circle dies, with the greeting from Kaisercraft.

Make A Wish

Monday, April 30, 2012
This fun card was made using supplies from Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit. And so I thought I would enter it in the Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" Challenge this week. Then sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set and the stamp is from My Favorite Things Stamps - Pure Innocence.

Surfing Miles

I had a big card making weekend - I made ten cards, which in the scheme of things may not seem like many but that was on top of doing the housework, etc etc etc. So I now have lots to share.

I needed a card for a work colleague, and I always struggle with male cards. But I pulled out my little "Surfing Miles" stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps which I had bought about 2 years ago but had never inked up!! Coloured him with Copics.

Thank You

Monday, April 16, 2012
Just started a new job this week after nearly 4 years at my previous job. I had nine staff so I decided that I would thank them for all their hard work and support whilst I was managing them. This is the card that I made using a lovely Kraftin' Kimmie stamp and papers from an A La Tarte Kit from LimeTart. Coloured image in with Copics.

Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit and Challenge

Tuesday, April 3, 2012
I got home the other day to find that lovely red postal card in my mailbox and was busting to be able to get to the post office to pick up my package from Simon Says Stamp. So when I finally picked up my April Card Kit - Sunnier Days - I was excited to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes!.

This is all the fun stuff in the kit - which included a limited edition stamp set. Love the umbrella!!
Here is the card I came up with. I paper pieced the umbrella, and used versamark ink and clear embossing powder for the raindrops.

Birthday Chick

For Christmas my wonderful partner bought me the big pack of Prisma Colour pencils - yes the whole set! And I keep opening them, gazing in adoration at them then closing the box. So I decided I better acutally use them as that is what they are for. Sharpening that first pencil is always the hardest, just like cutting that first piece of cardstock, or fabric, it is so pristine and you don't want to stuff it up - lol. Anyway, I stamped this cute little birthday chick image and started to colour and layer and colour. I used glossy accents on the ballon, and the sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set.

A La Tarte - 50th Birthday

Monday, April 2, 2012
A friend asked me to make a 50th birthday card for a friend of hers. I love doing special requests but with not other information than a 50th birthday for a woman, it is ometimes hard to know what they will like. I pulled out an A La Tarte kit from Lime Tart that I had not used yet and set to work, using a card by Jennifer McGuire as inspiration. The acetate panel concept is fantastic.

Owl Challenge

Monday, March 26, 2012
The current challenge over at Crazy4Challenges is to create a card with an owl. I loooove owls, so here is my card. Used the fantasitc Hero Arts Newsprint Owl.

Mermaid Birthday

Once again playing around with some gorgeous products from Create on Ormond. Marisa get's beautiful paper and cardstock from Ipaper. I have been playing with the Splash Designer Paper. I also used the lush Eco Luxury cardstock that matched perfectly. The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink - Signature Greetings.
I have also rediscovered by Hero Arts Envelope Template and Envelope liner template. I forgot how easy it was to make your own envelopes, and when you line the envelope with the matching paper from the card, they whole project really pops!!

Star Buttons

Marisa from Create on Ormond gave me these gorgeous button packs to play around with. You get three buttons in each colour - Big star, little star and round. And these are the baby cards I came up with. The Sentiment for the first card is from My Sentiments Exactly.
The sentiment for the second card is from PaperTrey Ink set - Inside & Out: Baby.

More Newspaper Tulips

Monday, March 19, 2012
I am loving this Hero Arts stamp - newspaper Tulips. Here is a card that I am doing as a class at Create on Ormond - the theme of the class is using different products for inking the stamp. This card is done with markers, and I only used half the image on the stamp.

Newspaper Tulips

Thursday, March 15, 2012

I have loved this stamp from the moment I saw it and have been inspired by other cards on here. I used the marker technique to ink the stamp, then spritzed with some water and stamped on watercolour paper. This is a small 4" x 4" card, I love making the small size. The lovely seam binding is from Stampin' Up.

Faux stone

Thursday, March 8, 2012
I used a Faux Stone technique on this card using three paint colours and a toothbrush. I then ran the painted piece through an embossing folder then applied distress ink with a blending tool over the top.
